The aircraft, identified as a Robinson R44 Raven II – a common light helicopter – came down on its side in a remote field off Ings Road. Initial footage reveals a largely intact black helicopter marked with a distinctive yellow or beige stripe.
The location of the crash is described as isolated, nestled between two railway lines and rarely frequented by the public. Despite its seclusion, the incident quickly drew the attention of emergency services and local businesses.
Workers at a nearby industrial estate were instructed to remain inside their buildings by responding police officers. The crash occurred immediately adjacent to their facility, a startling event for those present.
