CRIME SCENE: Two Toronto men wanted in distraction thefts at ATMs

Toronto Police are hunting two men who allegedly preyed on people taking money out of bank machines.

Police responded to a call on March 23 for a theft in the Eglinton-Pharmacy Aves. area.

Two thieves went to several bank machines throughout Toronto and watched people while they withdrew money, according to the allegations.

The thieves allegedly watched victims enter their PIN numbers, followed them out and through distraction methods obtained their debit cards. Police said further withdrawals and purchases were made using the stolen debit cards.

Constantin-Claudiu Paraschiv, 37, is wanted for theft under $5000, conspiracy to commit indictable offence, two counts of possess property/thing obtained by crime, three counts of possess/use credit card obtained by an offence, unauthorized use of a credit card, attempt fraud over, fraud under and theft of credit card.

Silviu-Romeo Florian, 38, is wanted for possess/use credit card/ obtained by an offence and possess property or thing obtained by crime.

Alleged demo assault

Toronto Police charged a 70-year-old Mississauga man with assault following a Sunday demonstration around 12:15 p.m., in the Bathurst St.-Sheppard Ave. West area.

Police alleged a man confronted a demonstrator who was attending the protest and spit in their face.

Manouchehr Shahbaz Mehr was charged with assault.
