CRIME SCENE: Three charged after firearm, ammo bust
Three people face numerous charges after Toronto Police seized a gun, ammo and a holster from a residence.

Two men and a woman face charges after police say they seized a handgun and ammunition.

Toronto Police executed a search warrant on Sunday in the Danforth Rd.-Eglinton Ave. area.

During the search, officers say they found a loaded semi-automatic handgun, ammunition and a holster.

Demetri Brown, 21, Ameka Melbourne, 31, and Daniel Massop, 39 — all of Toronto — face firearms charges. Brown is also charged with failing to comply with a release order and failing to comply with a probation order.

Shots fired at home third time

Shots were fired at a home in Vaughan for the third time around 5 a.m. on Monday.

York Regional Police say they are appealing for witnesses after the shooting at a residence on Allison Ann Way, in the area of Queen Filomena Ave. and Via Romano Blvd.

The home was occupied at the time, but no injuries were reported.

Witnesses reported seeing the driver of a dark-coloured SUV fire numerous shots, striking the residence and an unoccupied vehicle parked in the driveway before fleeing.

This house was the target of two previous shootings in September and is believed to be connected to past shootings at two other homes in Vaughan.

Three arrested at demonstration

Police say they made three arrests after demonstrators got out of hand at Queen’s Park on Saturday.

Around noon, officers were at a protest at North Park in the Wellesley St.- Queen’s Park Cres. area where it’s alleged a large group of individuals participated in a demonstration and counterdemonstration, according to Toronto Police.

Participants allegedly caused disturbances around the demonstration and assaulted other participants and an officer, said police.

Daniel Ovecka, 34, of West Lorne, Ont., was charged with assault; Bailey Villeneuve, 31, of Cornwall, was charged with cause disturbance and assault peace officer; and Shane Graham, 43, of Toronto, was charged with cause disturbance and mischief — damage property under $5000.
