CRIME SCENE: Female passenger, 68, fighting for life after Scarborough crash

A 68-year-old woman was critically injured after an overnight crash near Bluffers Park in Scarborough.

Toronto Police said officers responded to a crash Sunday at about 1 a.m. at Kingston and Brimley Rds., where a black Audi SUV collided with a white Kia four-door vehicle.

Police said the Audi, being driven by a 69-year-old man, was travelling southbound on Brimley and the Kia, also being operated by a 69-year-old man, was going eastbound on Kingston before one of the vehicles ran a red light and the vehicles collided.

A female passenger in the Kia was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

POLICE VEHICLES HIT DURING ROBBERY CALL

A suspect is in custody and others are at large after police responded to a robbery Sunday afternoon in Etobicoke.

Toronto Police said a robbery call came in at about 3:30 p.m. in the Kipling Ave.-The Queenway area and that police vehicles were involved in a collision with a suspect vehicle.

Police said one suspect was arrested and additional suspects were outstanding, warning of a “large police presence” in the area.

“Avoid the area if possible,” police said on social media, adding that northbound Kipling was closed at North Queen St., southbound Kipling was closed at Jutland Rd. and Jutland was closed between Kipling and Islington Ave.
