We’re all for harmless luggage hacks (what do you mean that duty-free bag is stuffed with jumpers?). But sometimes, there’s no beating those dreaded airline baggage sizers.
We’ve already brought you the lowdown on Ryanair and easyJet restrictions, and hopefully saved some of you a few quid in the process.
Without further ado, here comes the Wizz Air version.
Wizz Air’s cabin bag size and weight rules for 2025
At Wizz Air, Hungary’s low-cost airline, standard tickets include one free carry-on bag. The maximum dimensions are 40 x 30 x 20cm, with a maximum weight of 10kg.
The bag — which could be anything from a handbag, rucksack, or laptop case — must fit under the seat in front of you.

Priority passengers are allowed to bring an extra trolley bag. Maximum dimensions are a little larger, at 55 x 40 x 23cm.
The maximum weight of the trolley bag remains at 10kg, and it has to fit in the overhead locker.
Should your bag exceed these dimensions, additional fees will be incurred.
Wizz Air priority can be added during the initial booking process. Or, you can add it later on your reservation’s flight summary page or by calling the Wizz Air Call Centre.
Paying online or by phone costs between €0 and €60 (£52). The price increases to €65.00 (£57) if you purchase priority at the airport.
How much is checked baggage?
Wizz Air passengers are allowed to travel with up to six pieces of checked-in baggage.
Baggage fees are applied to each item. The first three can be paid for online. The rest should be paid for at the airport.
All must be dropped off at the check-in counter before going through security.
The weights allowed include:
• 10 kg checked-in bag: During low season, a 10kg checked-in bag costs between €15 and €116.50 (£13 – £101). In high season, this increases to €20 to €130 (£17 – £113).
• 20 kg checked-in bag: A 20kg bag in low season costs €20 to €131 (£17 – £114), while in high season it’s €25 to €144 (£22 – £125).
• 26 kg checked-in bag: For 26kg luggage in low season, a €26 to €138 (£23 – £120) fee will be charged. The higher seasons rise to €31 to €151.50 (£27 – £132).
• 32 kg checked-in bag: Finally, for those travelling with a 32kg bag, the minimum fees are €32 to €145 (£28 – £126), and the higher fees are €37 to €158.50 (£32 – £138).
The maximum dimensions for a Wizz Air checked-in bag, regardless of weight, are 149 x 119 x 171cm.
Checked luggage must also be paid for per flight. While the airline doesn’t operate connecting flights, if you book multiple flights for the same day, you will need to go through security and passport control at the connecting airport. This means collecting and re-checking your luggage for a fee.
Additionally, one pushchair or baby stroller per child can be checked in free of charge.
