The White House affirmed Wednesday that current munitions stockpiles are adequate for the ongoing Operation Epic Fury, and possess significant reserves beyond that immediate need. Despite this assurance, the administration is urgently pushing leading defense contractors to accelerate production capabilities.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized the President’s commitment to American-made weaponry, stating he believes these are the world’s finest. She highlighted his desire for swift action, explaining his vocal efforts to bolster the defense industry and safeguard national security.
These statements emerged during the first White House briefing since Operation Epic Fury, a joint U.S. and Israeli military operation in Iran, commenced on Saturday. The operation continues to unfold as discussions with defense industry leaders are scheduled.
A White House official revealed that executives from major U.S. defense companies are expected at the White House on Friday to address strategies for increasing weapons production. The meeting underscores the administration’s proactive approach to preparedness.
Leavitt confidently asserted the United States possesses more than sufficient resources to successfully execute the mission in Iran. She pointed to significant increases in the defense budget under the current administration as a key factor in bolstering these capabilities.
“The United States of America has more than enough capability to not only successfully execute Operation Epic Fury, but to go much further,” Leavitt stated. She further indicated the existence of strategically located weapons stockpiles known to few outside of government circles.
The discussion regarding stockpile levels followed a recent post by the President on social media, where he declared munitions stockpiles were at an all-time high. However, he also acknowledged a need for further improvement, particularly in high-grade weaponry.
The President’s post indicated a “virtually unlimited supply” of medium and upper-medium grade munitions, suggesting the potential for prolonged and successful military engagements. He also referenced additional high-grade weaponry stored in allied nations.
Leavitt addressed the President’s comments, stating he was referencing what he characterized as a previous administration’s detrimental policy of providing substantial weaponry to Ukraine without adequate compensation. She framed this as a depletion of American resources.
The administration’s focus remains firmly on ensuring the United States maintains a decisive advantage in military preparedness, actively working to strengthen its defense industrial base and secure its national interests.
