Virginia Giuffre alleged she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein, forced into sexual encounters with Prince Andrew multiple times as a teenager. Her story, meticulously detailed in her memoir ‘Nobody’s Girl’, was completed just weeks before her untimely death.
Giuffre’s brother, Sky Roberts, celebrated the King’s decision to remove Andrew’s prince title, but his relief is tempered by a demand for justice. He believes his sister’s fight wasn’t simply for a title to be revoked, but for Andrew Windsor to face imprisonment.
“He’s just Andrew,” Roberts stated, his voice thick with emotion. He envisions his sister rejoicing from beyond, acknowledging the monumental impact of her courage. A normal girl, he emphasized, brought down a prince – an unprecedented victory.
Despite consistently denying the allegations, Andrew settled a civil case with Giuffre in 2022 for a substantial sum. The financial settlement, however, hasn’t brought closure for those seeking accountability.
Roberts expressed gratitude for the King’s statement acknowledging victims of abuse, but insisted it’s merely a starting point. He passionately argued that Andrew should be held accountable for his alleged actions, remaining a free man is unacceptable.
Sigrid McCawley, Giuffre’s lawyer during the civil case, described the King’s decision as a “tipping point.” She believes Giuffre’s voice has irrevocably altered history, and her bravery should serve as a powerful lesson: survivors must be heard and believed.
The call for further investigation extends across the Atlantic. Democratic Congressman Suhas Subramanyam continues to urge Prince Andrew to testify before a US Congressional committee, offering him a chance to “clear his name.”
Subramanyam believes Andrew possesses crucial information regarding Epstein’s crimes and has a moral obligation to share it. He vowed to relentlessly pursue all evidence, regardless of the perpetrators’ wealth or power.
Royal author Robert Jobson characterized the King’s move as the “final humiliation” for his brother. The decision, he noted, serves to distance the Royal Family from any association with wrongdoing.
