GERVAIS'S TUBE AD NIGHTMARE: TfL DESTROYS His Dangerous Stunt!

Ricky Gervais ignited a social media firestorm with claims that Transport for London (TfL) rejected a series of provocative advertisements for his Dutch Barn vodka.

The comedian shared images of the proposed ads on social media, one boldly stating, “Welcome to London. Don’t forget your stab vest,” alongside a picture of Gervais holding his vodka bottle. He simply captioned the post: “They said no.”

TfL swiftly responded, clarifying that the specific advertisement in question was never formally submitted for review. They emphasized that alternative creative concepts for Dutch Barn *had* been approved and were currently running on the London Underground network.

Gervais didn’t stop there, revealing several other “rejected” concepts. One ad playfully suggested, “One day you’ll be underground for good,” prompting a rejection based on the concern it implied excessive drinking as a response to life’s brevity.

Another advertisement cheekily positioned Dutch Barn as “Your tube driver’s favourite drink in the morning.” The comedian’s fans quickly reacted, many praising the ads as brilliantly edgy and humorous.

This isn’t Gervais’s first brush with controversy. He’s built a career on pushing boundaries and challenging societal norms, a trait that has often landed him in hot water.

Earlier this year, his Hollywood Walk of Fame speech drew criticism for a series of jokes referencing celebrities accused of serious misconduct, including Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby, and Fatty Arbuckle.

In 2023, a petition with over 12,000 signatures called for Netflix to cancel his comedy special *Armageddon* before its release, citing offensive jokes about terminally ill children and the use of a derogatory slur in a teaser clip.

Gervais has consistently used his platform to critique the Hollywood elite, particularly during his years hosting the Golden Globe Awards, often delivering pointed and unapologetic commentary.
